Corrine Bailey Rae – Closer

Corrine Bailey Rae is Foxx Approved. The Sea was released on January 26th if you don’t have it already please for pick it up.  I love it and its so mellow. However this track closer is the joint.She has clearly changed her style from her first album alittle bit but its still all the same, but I love I love her voice. Enjoy.

Erykah Badu – Window Seat

Window Seat by Erykah was released recently. I had to download and  listen just to see if  I was gonna like it. So this song didn’t take long to grow on me. I love it and the lyrics are on point, love the production.  I just love this song its just classic badu, she is back to baduizm.  Can’t wait for the album!

My journey through  Connecticut School of Broadcasting has been so amazing.  I came in the door not knowing just want I wanted to do and i’m sure by the time I leave I will be ready to take on the broadcasting world.  Last Tuesday I had the opportunity of a lifetime.

Dick Robinson (all the way on the right) who owns CSB allowed me and a few other students  to broadcast on his show along with him. His weekly broadcast takes place on his yacht called “airwaves” . Dick has been in broadcasting for  over 40 years. Has met and spoke with the likes of ray charles  cher,  eva cassidy , the beatles and many others. Amazing to be standing in a place with a man that has interviewed and graced so many legends. I mean  he was  going through music talking about who and how he has met these different people. It was truly a blessing. The only thing that shocked me was that he still uses Compact Disc to play music on his show!!!  LOL!  I thought I was the only person in the world who still purchased CD’s.

His show American Standards by the Sea is all about the music that was played during the older days. To keep original music alive. We the students  got a chance to be apart of his weekly broadcast on  February 14th. It is syndicated  along the east coast. So you can only imagine my excitement. *jumps up and down* Dick Robinson is awesome, and will drop some music knowledge on you in a minute!  Be sure to check out the site for American Standards by the Sea.  Once I get info on the podcast I will post it for you guys to my debut to the airwaves…

Periodically you must look up to see your blessings.  This was one of them.  The sky was sooo clear and blue that day!

This was  an acrobat team I saw. WOW is all I can say! One day I will learn acrobats, but I enjoyed this show.

Road Less Traveled

I look at this road everyday.  Never really noticed it looked like the road less traveled. Amazingly just when I need to see it I did. God will always answer questions when you least expect it, this was an answer to one of them.

Where’s your confidence?

I heard this a while back and it shook me up maybe hurt my feelings alittle. Its funny. I always thought I stood tall and had such confidence in everything that I did.  I have fussed and complained and  whined about it but I pushed through it and got it done.  There has not been anything that I focused my mind to that I have NOT gotten or  accomplished. Correction Not without God and a little focus. 

But what is confidence?

Is it the way a person acts? Is it the way the  present themselves? Is it just how you carry yourself?  I think its a combination of the above not to mention ambition. You cant say confidence without visualizing ambition.  If you know what you want go for it! If at first you don’t  succeed then try try again. If it is at least in your grasp. If at first you don’t succeed then try try again. If not then by all means back down.  No use in killing the little bit of pride you have left. You cant have everything and you sure cant have the cake and eat it too. LOL! Soooo…

Dictionary.com defines as

1 belief in oneself and one’s powers or abilities; self-confidence; self-reliance; assurance
2 full trust; belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing:

So After reading  definition #1 one might believe that if you believe in yourself  you have confidence. I look good , can do anything why wouldn’t you want to be around me etc.  Ahhh but, according to definition #2 its a trust  and reliability thing. Meaning I’m trusting you to make the right decision for the both of us. LOL! RRRIIIGGGHHHT! (Dont hold your breathe for this one!)

So to each it’s own I assume.  I’m sticking with the  first one believe in yourself I cant stress it enough. There are not many people I have confidence in nowdays for the simple fact  if you put too much trust in people they WILL disappoint you. You are less likely to disappoint yourself.  Believe in you and do you, because  nobody is gonna do it for you….  I continue everyday with the knowledge that I don’t have to please anyone but God and myself.

So what is confidence to you?

I skip out for a while and I come back to love!  WOW!

Im sooo sorry.  I will do better to keep the site updated.  As I have been focusing on my career.  It is paying off …. Tuesday is a big day for me.  If you know me personally then you know what the BIG deal is. I will take lots of pictures for yall to see…  Im soo excited! They say when prayers go up blessings come down. Its so true  so true.  Never give up … No matter what you may be experiencing. There is something sooo much bigger.  Believe and know that you don’t need anyone but God to see you through it.

But enough of that.  Im sure on of these days i’ll post my complete testimony but today.. Just believe in you.
